Dow Electronic Materials expands its LED technologies’ portfolio to include specialty phosphor technology Friday, May 18, 2012 Dow Electronic Materials, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) has announced its bolt-on acquisition of Lightscape Materials, Inc., a spin-off of SRI International. Lightscape Materials is a private, US-based research company with intellectual property in specialty phosphor technology. NTL Electronics India and Lemnis Lighting, Netherlands form a joint venture to develop, produce and sell “Energy-efficient, LED lighting systems” Wednesday, April 25, 2012 NTL Electronics India Limited, the Rs. 500 Cr (US$ 100 million) Lighting Electronics major from India, and Lemnis Lighting, Netherlands, a widely awarded forerunner in the field of sustainable lighting solutions, announced the formation of a joint venture to design, produce and sell energy efficient, LED lighting systems for India as well as the global audience.		EVERLIGHT sues Nichia in US Monday, April 23, 2012 Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Nichia Corp. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The lawsuit seeks to enjoin Nichia from manufacturing, using, importing, offering for sale, or selling its infringing products in the United States It also seeks monetary damages.

The LM3447 AC/DC LED driver includes a dimmer detect, phase decoder and adjustable hold current circuits to provide smooth and flicker-free dimming operation in off-line, isolated LED lighting applications, including A19, E26/27 and PAR30/38 bulbs, as well as can light retrofits.		Rutronik: Soleriq E LED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors offers up to 4500 lm even at high application temperatures Wednesday, May 16, 2012 The new Soleriq series, the first chip-on-board LED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, achieves a luminous flux of 1500 lm to 4500 lm even at high application temperatures. This makes them ideal for downlights with high performance requirements. The Soleriq E is now available at Rutronik in two versions.
